Research and Activities
The DSHCS is more than a formal framework for doctoral studies. It is a vibrant and active community whose members are connected not only through their academic work, but also through shared exchange, individual initiative, and professional development. Research lies at the heart of our activities. Within the research clusters, Fellows work on their projects together with their supervisors, engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, and present and discuss their findings in colloquia. Regular academic events foster scholarly exchange, critical discussion, and collaboration across disciplinary boundaries. In this way, a dynamic research environment emerges that supports both intellectual curiosity and mutual inspiration. At the same time, we place great value on the initiative of our doctoral candidates. We encourage and support them in organizing conferences, workshops, reading groups, peer activities, and informal gatherings. This commitment strengthens the sense of community within the DSHCS, promotes mutual support, and enables fellows to shape their doctoral journey independently and proactively.
