PhDs on Tour

One of the most rewarding and connecting initiatives within the DSHCS is PhDs on Tour. The program brings Fellows from all disciplines out of the university, the archive, and the office, creating space for shared art history excursions in Vienna and beyond.

PhDs on Tour was founded in 2020/21 by Sophie Morawitz and Camilla Brantl. Their aim was to bring together research, exchange, and the collective experience of art and architecture. Through exhibition visits, architectural explorations, and institutional tours, participants were able to discuss objects and spaces on site, share perspectives, and gain new impulses for their own research. At the same time, PhDs on Tour strengthened the sense of collegial community within the DSHCS.

In the following years, Anna-Marie Kroupova, Lonneke Delpeut, and Erika Meneghini. continued and further developed PhDs on Tour with great dedication.
