Robert Kotasek

Already during my studies of art history at the University of Vienna I gained practical experience in cultural institutions and participated in various exhibition, research and publication projects in the field of fine as well as applied arts. Currently I am working as a curatorial assistant in a private collection.

Research Interests:

My interests lie in Czech avant-garde artistic tendencies, and in my research I focus mainly on Czechoslovak post-war art, especially conceptual and language-based art forms.

Current Research Project:

In my dissertation project I am specifically dealing with Czechoslovak artists' books from the period of the communist dictatorship in a cultural-political context. The focus is on artists' books from the collections of the Art Museum in Olomouc and the Artpool Archive in Budapest, which will be catalogued and analyzed in detail in a broader, international context.
