Research Project

The doctoral project combines two closely connected themes: agricultural accounting and transformation of the agricultural sector in the USSR/Russian Federation during the process of changes in the economic system from a non-capitalistic to a capitalistic one (1980s-2000s). The project intends to explore how the transformation of the agricultural sector was intertwined with changes in accounting legal systems and practices. The topic is considered inseparably from the political, market, cultural and managerial mechanisms of this period of restructuring and global shifts in the country.

The dissertation is part of the project ‘Datarev - Leading the first data revolution in European agriculture: farm accountancy data and their impact 1870-1945’, directed by Prof. Dr. Federico D’Onofrio and funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
