Viennese student with an interdisciplinary background; completed the first Master’s in History with a focus on Global History (2022), the second Master’s in History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) (2024), and the third Master’s in Arabic World: Language and Society (2024), with a specific focus on religion and politics/Islamic studies. Currently pursuing ongoing studies in Pharmacy and African Studies alongside a PhD in Medieval History (working title of the dissertation: “The Jihād in its Poetic Fragments: The Chronicle al-Mann bi-l-Imāma by Ibn Ṣāib as-Ṣalā (594 AH/late 12th century)”).


Research interests: Arabic poetry, Arabic chronicles, and epistemologies of historiography in the history of  science and knowledge, approaches on “Global Middle Ages”. Also interested in drug history (pharmacy), indigenous knowledge, the medieval Arabic-Islamic world, Arabic history, North Africa in African studies discourse, and more.


Current research project: The current research focuses on the concept of Jihād as reflected in poetic fragments within the chronicle al-Mann bi l-Imāma by Ibn Ṣāḥib as-Ṣalāḥ (594 AH/late 12th century). This work explores the intersection of historiography, poetic expression, and the construction of political and religious authority during the Almohad period. This research adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating perspectives from history, cultural studies, Arabic studies, and Islamic studies and contributes to the fields of Arabic historiography, medieval Islamic studies, and (partly) history of knowledge.
